Product Stewardship

Phillips Carbon Black Limited is committed to manufacture carbon blacks, which ensure the best possible hygiene and safety standards for the society at large, and comply with different food contact regulations across the globe:

  1. Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation dating from 18th December 2006. REACH addresses the production and use of chemical substances, and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment.
     
  2. FDA has regulatory oversight for color additives used in foods, drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices. FDA lists new color additives or new uses for listed color additives that have been shown to be safe for their intended uses in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). It conducts a certification program for batches of color additives that are required to be certified before sale, and monitors the use of color additives in products in the US, including product labelling.
     
  3. Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food Text with EEA relevance.

  4. European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys. Compliance with the standard is legally required for all toys sold in the European Union.

  5. This Indian Standard ( Fourth Revision ) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by the Plastic Pipes and Fittings Sectional Committee had been approved by the Civil Engineering Division Council. This Indian Standard lays down requirements for high density polyethylene pipes from 16 mm to 1 000 mm nominal diameter of pressure rating from 0.25 MPa to 1.6 MPa in material grades of PE 63, PE 80, and PE 100, for use for buried water mains and services and for water supply above ground, both inside and outside buildings.

  6. China’s Hygienic Standards for uses of additives in food containers and packaging materials (GB 9685-2008). According to GB 9685-2008, Specific Migration Limits shall not exceed 30 (mg/Kg) and our Royale Black PP802 complies with the above requirement.New standards are introduced October 19 2017, GB9685-2016. According to GB 9685-2016 Methyl Benzene extract should be less than 1% and Benzo(a)Pyrene content should be less than 0.25mg/Kg.
