PCBL has FOUR manufacturing units located in Durgapur (Eastern India), Kochi (Southern India) and Palej and Mundra (Western India).

PCBL Durgapur Unit, the oldest unit has now a production capacity of 1,63,500 MTPA. There are three production lines running at the plant with a proven capability of producing all ASTM grades of carbon black.

The plant has gone through successive stages of modernisation and expansion. It is an ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 and WASH (Workplace Assessment for Safety and Hygiene for COVID-19 preparedness) certified unit.

The unit has a Captive Power Plant with 30 MW of power generation capacity.

PCBL Kochi Unit came into being after the amalgamation with Carbon and Chemicals, Kochi in 1996. It has two lines of production with a total capacity of 92500 MTPA.

It has two lines of production with a total capacity of 92,500 MTPA of ASTM carbon black grades. The unit is an ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and WASH (Workplace Assessment for Safety and Hygiene for COVID-19 preparedness) certified unit and its laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified.

The unit has a Captive Power Plant with 10 MW of power generation capacity.

PCBL Palej Unit was acquired from M/s Gujarat Carbon & Industries Limited (GCIL), Baroda in November 1996. The merger came into effect from 1st April 1997 with the twin objectives of increasing volumes and proximity to the key customers.

At the time of acquisition, the plant had a capacity of 25,000 MTPA of various carbon black grades. After a capacity expansion in 2004, the plant is currently running three lines of production with a total production capacity of 1,10,250 MTPA.

The plant has the capability of producing carbon black grades for specialty black applications, such as plastics, inks, paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, fertilisers, batteries and other niche applications, apart from producing various ASTM carbon black grades. The power plant has a running capacity of 12 MW.
It is an ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 and WASH (Workplace Assessment for Safety and Hygiene for COVID-19 preparedness) certified unit and its laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified.
